BASKETBALL - How do I create highlights?

If you are unfamiliar with new highlight editor, we recommend reading BASKETBALL - Understanding the Highlight Editor first, which is located in our knowledge base. Here you will find an in depth explanation of where to find things, what the icons/buttons mean, as well as tips and tricks!
The most important advice we can provide is to click the grey save button after each time you add anything to ensure your work saves. We would hate to see all of your hard work be lost and/or published due to not using the save button. 

***** ATHLETES - PLEASE BE ADVISED YOU CAN ONLY CREATE A HIGHLIGHT TOTALING 3 MINUTES (180 SECONDS) *****
To create a highlight, click on the Highlights page and click the '+ Create New Highlight' button:



Custom Title Slide - Name your highlight and select your title screen option; default title screen, no title screen or custom title screen:
  1. to add a custom title to be played at the beginning of your highlight, click the '+Add to Highlight' icon.
  2. the title slide will appear at the beginning of your highlight on the screen for 2 seconds and vanish. 




Enter the information that you want to add, once you are satisfied, click the grey save button:



Before moving on to adding film, determine if you want this to be viewable in the Highlight Hub. If so, ensure that the box is checked. If you do not want it shared, you will need to deselect the box:



Adding Clips - click on Video:
If you have not yet started utilizing QwikTags, you will have to go game by game to select film.
To manually add clips, utilize the Qwik Capture feature, which grabs 3 seconds before and 7 seconds after.
  1. If you want/need to shorten or lengthen the clip, click on the green and red handles from the scrub bar. Once you are satisfied with the clip, click the blue '+ Add to Timeline' button and continue this process until you have everything added to your timeline:





The best practice is to click the grey save button as you add each clip as a precaution to eliminate losing any of your work! Once all of your clips are added, you have a few additional options before publishing your highlight of add music, add images, and add custom title slide:



To add by QwikTags:
Under QwikTags, any game in which you previous added a QwikTag will appear. Click on the game that you want to add QwikTags from:





By clicking on a QwikTag within the list, you will see a preview of the thumbnail in the video player:
  1. The benefit to QwikTags is no trimming is required of the clip as you have already made it to be the length that you wanted.



Once you have confirmed that it is the correct click you want, click '+ Add to Timeline' and it will appear below:

Add Music - to add music, you will click on Music under the Media banner. From here, you can:
  1. Press play to preview the song
  2. Press stop to end it
  3. Click  '+Add to Highlight' once you've chosen a song



The song will be added to the timeline in orange, click on the song to add to all clips and a red box will appear around it:



If you are satisfied with the song, click the grey Save button. If you want to remove the song, click the red trash can button to the right of the song within the timeline:



Add Images - you can add individual photos, team photos, photos from practices, games, team outing, banquets, etc.:
  1. To add images, you will click on Library under the Media banner. The image will remain on the screen for 5 seconds and that is a set time that cannot be modified.
  2. For existing images, scroll in your library, locate the image that you want, click the '+ Add' to add to your timeline and it will be added as the last clip.



To differentiate between video and image, please see below:



To move the image, click on the green clip on the timeline and a red box will appear around it. Use the back and fourth toggle to change placement in the highlight. Once you are satisfied with the image placement in your highlight, click save.
  1. You can repeat this process as many times as you'd like by following the same steps.
  2. You may also change the pan direction by clicking the drop down menu.



At this point, if you are finished with adding film to your highlight, click the green publish button and an auto generated message will appear in a box will appear immediately after:





You will receive an email notification when your highlight in published and ready to view.
Once your highlight is published, you may go back and edit at anytime to add or remove clips/images/music as needed by completing the previous steps and republishing.
