To start creating your own Highlights, head over to the My Highlights tab in the menu bar:
Here you will be able to view, edit, delete, and share all of your highlights. To make a new Highlight, click New Highlight in the top right:
Let's break down this page:
The first thing you will do is name your Highlight. The default title will have your name, position, and team. Feel free to add more information to the title such as your graduation year.
The next option is to allow your Highlight to be visible in the QwikCut Highlight Hub. This allows other athletes, coaches, and users on the platform view and share your highlight. If you decide to share your highlight, you will be asked to choose the category of sport. Make sure that the correct sport is selected.
When you are finished with this page, click Next Step. You will be brought to the next page, but you will always be able to return by clicking the top tab named "Highlight Name"
On this page you can create your title card. There are many visual presets to choose from but the information displayed is the same.
You can upload a Profile Picture of yourself on this page as well. At the bottom of the page you can choose a background color.
Certain colors, may hide information on the title card. Please Double Check that everything is readable!
Make sure to fill out as much of this information as you can as recruiters and potential prospects will use this information to better judge your highlight
YOUR INFORMATION WILL NOT SAVE UNLESS YOU CLICK UPDATE. It will display in the preview to the right but will not show in the highlight unless the update button is clicked!
You are not ready to start making your highlight! Start by clicking Add Video on the timeline:
There are three sources you can get your highlight footage from. The Games and Playlists tab, your Team Media Library, and your Favorites list.
The Games and Playlists tab will be the same view as your My Video tab. You can find all of your season filled with games, practices, and scrimmages. Select a game and all clips pertaining to that game will show up.
You can go through the game, and find your best plays. Click the circle next to the play to select a play. If you want to deselect a play click the same circle, or click Deselect (1) Items. This option will allow you to deselect all your current clips. It's also a good way to keep track of how many you have selected.
Going through each game individually take a lot of time, which is why we recommend using Favorites when making your highlights.
On this page you will see all of your favorites organized by game and rating. All you have to do is click the circle next to the clip to select it.
If you do not have any favorites and want to know how to add your best plays to your favorites, check out THIS ARTICLE
You can sort your plays by clicking All Ratings. This lets you filter by certain ratings. This is very helpful if you have a lot of favorites, or only want let's say the 5 star plays for this highlight.
The final source of getting footage for your highlights are the Media Library. Any photos and videos you or your team uploaded will be found here and can be added to your highlight.
When you are done collecting your clips, click Add to Highlight. Remember, you can always go back and click add video to get additional footage.
All of your clips are now in the timeline. They will likely be too long. To trim, simply find where the play starts, and drag the green line to the start. Do the same with the red line for when the play ends.
A lot of plays can be all over the place and it may be difficult to know where to look. That's why we have telestrations. You can click on any of the tools, click and drag over where you want the telestration to go, and it will add a circle or arrow for a few seconds in your highlight helping the viewer where to look.
If you want to move or delete an added telestration, click on the telestration and drag, or click the red trash can icon. The CLEAR button clears all telestrations on screen. The UNDO button undo's your last action.
Plays can be very fast, but you can add a slow motion effect to emphasize a move. Find the place you want to slo-mo, and click the Add Slo-Mo button to the left of the timeline. You can adjust the timing and length of the Slo-Mo by dragging the blue lines on each end.
Some of your plays may not be in the right order. You can change this by selecting the clip by clicking on it, and pressing the two left or right arrows. You can press the trash can to delete the clip from the timeline.
You can change the size of the timeline clip thumbnail preview using the slider on the right
Every good highlight needs the right song, click the Add Music button to browser our Music Library:
Scroll through and find the right song for your highlight. You can preview the song by clicking the play button. Select the song clicking the check.
You can see that our highlight is longer than the song. You can add as many songs for however long your highlight is.
To look at your entire highlight before publishing, click the preview highlight button. Click the play button to watch your highlight.
